New York/PRWeb/November 12, 2013 – Epstein Becker Green and EBG Advisors announce the third webinar in a series focusing on emerging trends in population health. “Measuring Success—Evaluating the Clinical and Financial Efficacy of Population Health Management Strategies,” will be led by Thomas Wilson, PhD, DrPH, epidemiologist & founder of Trajectory Healthcare, LLC; and co-founder and board chair of the non-profit organization Population Health Impact Institute.

This complimentary webinar takes place November 20, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. ET. To register, click here.

“With the advent of more complex care management interventions and numerous types of population health management strategies, health leaders need to understand the competitive advantage of adopting strong evaluation strategies to measure their effectiveness and efficiencies,” Dr. Wilson says. “This session will discuss the problem of ‘attribution’ and will offer suggestions on how to design and create programs that use comparative effectiveness evaluation techniques and promote transparent methodologies.”

Dr. Wilson’s presentation will help key stakeholders evaluate:

  • When well-done predictive modeling and data analytics can add true value.
  • Whether a program intervention is really making a difference in a targeted population and what do when it does not.
  • The types of metrics that should be used to measure patient engagement,  outcomes, and changes over time

The webinar series offers participants informative and insightful guidance on how population health strategies are transforming the health care paradigm as the industry moves towards the measurement and management of integrated delivery systems such as accountable care organizations (ACOs).

“These sessions offer participants informative and insightful guidance on how population health strategies are transforming the health care paradigm,” says Linda Tiano, a member of Epstein Becker Green’s Health Care and Life Sciences practice and moderator of the webinar. “From the Affordable Care Act and data analytics to advancements in health IT systems, a number of factors are having a significant impact on the health care delivery system.”

The first session in the three-part webinar series, “The Consumer Perspective on Health Care Delivery—Challenging Pre-Existing Notions and Navigating the New Landscape,” featured noted health care communication expert Chuck Alston, senior vice president, director of public affairs, MSL, Washington, D.C. (Publicis’ strategic engagement group), and advisor to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation on the health care quality portfolio.

Alston’s presentation focused on the pre-existing notions of how to best communicate medical information to consumers, patients, and their families. To download, click here, then scroll to the bottom of the page, insert the password population1 and click “Go.” The links for the PDF file and recording will appear at the bottom of the page.
