Annapolis, Maryland / PRWeb / November 12, 2015—RadSite™, a leading accreditation agency for diagnostic imaging quality as designated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), will exhibit at the Radiological Society of North America’s (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Nov. 29 – Dec. 3, 2015.  The RadSite team will be on hand to provide information on the MIPPA Accreditation Standards v2.2 and demonstrate the recently updated online portal. Information on special pricing for RSNA 2015 attendees will also be available. RadSite will be located at booth 8530, North Building, Hall B.

RadSite’s MIPPA Accreditation Program (MAP) allows providers who bill CMS for CT, MRI, PET and SPECT procedures to apply for accreditation as required by the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) of 2008. MAP includes a review of personnel, policies and procedures, as well as sample clinical images and phantom studies. To enhance the experience of applicants, RadSite recently released a completely redesigned version of its online accreditation application portal and software to support the program, and will showcase the new system at RSNA 2015.

“We gathered input from applicants who have applied for accreditation with RadSite over the past year,” said Dr. William W. Orrison Jr., RadSite’s Chief Medical Officer and Chair of the Standards Committee. “Because we offer a very hands-on approach when working with applicants, we were able to gain a clear understanding of the needs and wants of both consumers and imaging providers when it comes to accreditation. Feedback from providers operating all types of advanced diagnostic imaging modalities across all areas of the country was incorporated into these revisions.”

The new Web portal is designed to be much more intuitive and interactive for users with benefits that provide:

  • Ease for data entry and uploading supporting documents
  • Previous information conveniently stored and accessible when a provider needs to make updates or reapply for accreditation
  • Greater multi-site efficiency: an imaging manager overseeing multiple sites can access all applications with a single login, and components of one application that apply to multiple sites only have to be entered once
  • An online form wizard that streamlines completion of sections based on previous responses, allowing providers to skip sections that do not apply to their facility “We recognize that imaging providers have to juggle many competing demands for their time, so completing what is traditionally viewed as tedious paperwork is not something many people look forward to,” said Garry Carneal, JD, MA, Chair of the RadSite Advisory Board. “RadSite is seeking to change that perception by making our new portal both intuitive and intelligent. When an online application is easy for a user to navigate and smart enough not to ask redundant questions, the entire process becomes much more efficient. We are looking forward to sharing our new portal with the medical imaging industry at RSNA 2015.”To find out more about the new portal and RadSite’s MIPPA Accreditation Program, visit www.radsitequality.com.
